My cousin and his wife welcomed an adorable little man to their family about 9 months ago and last weekend I met up with them to capture all of Calan's cuteness. He gave us a few smiles but was all business for the rest of the session. I love his big smiles, but I also love the serious, meaningful faces he made. And I can't even tell you how much I love those big, pinchable cheeks. What a cutie!

Gwen and her family recently came to visit me at the studio. She recently turned two! What an adorable little girl! I love her bright blonde hair and curls. Please excuse the extremely long blog post, but I just couldn't get away with not showing so many images from Jenna and Travis wedding from a couple of weeks ago. It was truely a wedding to remember. Jenna and Travis have been friends of mine for many years and I was honored to be asked to photograph their engagement photos and their wedding. Their wedding day was filled with so much love and devotion. You could honestly feel the love that Jenna and Travis feel for each other, for their family and their friends. I was lucky enough to spend quite a bit of time with just Jenna and Travis that day. I cannot even begin to explain how perfect they are together. The way Travis adores Jenna and the way Jenna cares for Travis. It's clearly love they have found! I found myself lost in their affection for one another all day. I know you will feel these emotions in the images.

Jenna and Travis...I love you guys! You both are incredibly kind, generous, and giving people and I am honored to have documented your day. It's 12:31 am and I officially have a four year old. As many of you know, I have been wildly busy. So busy in fact, that I am way behind in blog sneak peeks and other things...but I just had to quick put up a couple of images of my little man who is turning four today! The time has gone by so incredibly fast and Myles amazes me everyday. He has a new best friend every hour, loves to play hockey in the driveway, is crazy about chocolate chip pancakes and asks to cuddle while watching a movie. I love being his mom and can't wait to see what year four brings his (and our) way. Happy Birthday Monkey Man! (oh and ps, watch for some great blog posts coming your way with some amazing people)

Abby + Brent {Minneapolis Wedding Photography}

Last weekend, I was honored to celebrate with Abby and Brent as they started their life together as husband and wife. We started the day at Oak Ridge Conference Center, which is situated on acres of beautiful rolling hills and a quiet lake. We had the perfect day to be outside for photographs so we defintely made the best of it. We then traveled to Gale Woods Farm and Pavillion in Mound. I enjoyed getting to know some of Abby and Brent's friends over the course of the day. And I can see already that Abby and Brent are going to have a lifetime of laughter and love. They spent most of the day laughing together and enjoying their day. Congratulations Abby and Brent!

I am so honored to introduce this little angel to you all! My dear friend Katie and her husband welcome a sweet baby girl on Easter Sunday. Baby Emma is perfect and was the perfect little subject as she slept nearly the entire shoot, a photographer couldn't ask for better! My friend couldn't be more of a wonder woman...one week after the birth of her daughter and while I am shooting, she was making delicous cookies. The house filled with that sweet, fresh baked cookie smell and I just couldn't resist a bite or two of one. Yum!

My amazing friend Katie is just that, amazing. She is not only GORGEOUS but a fantastic mother, wife and friend. In just a few weeks, she is expecting her 2nd child. What amazes me is that big brother Austen doesn't even know if he will be getting a baby brother or baby sister yet. Katie and her husband have opted to wait till the birth of the baby to find out. As her friend, I am of course dying to know! I am not a waiter so it's just killing me. But I know that baby will be here soon and I can officially purchase blue or pink stuff. Either way, baby #2 will come into the world with 2 wonderful parents and a fanastic big brother to look up to.

This adorable 6 month old has big blue eyes just like her big sister. Everytime I photograph them I am just blown away with the way their blue eyes shine. I am also blown away that baby Reese is already 6 months old and that her big sister is going to be 2 in a few short months. I was back in St. Paul again to photograph the twins, Hannah & Ben, who are now 3 months old. Boy have they changes. They have yummy rolls, sweet personalities and big wide baby grins. Usually by 3 months the babies stay wide awake through the entire session. Not Hannah and Ben, they feel asleep pretty early into the session and they didn't want to be bothered to get their picture taken. Such sound sleepers, didn't make a peep, so I kept shooting and I just love some of the cozy, sleepy images. Mom and Dad will soon be wishing for those moments back (believe me, I have a 3 year old)!

Myles was treated like a king on Valentine's Day. His Grandma ordered him some really really yummy cupcakes from Georgetown Cupcakes. Yup, the same Georgetown Cupcakes featured in TLC's DC Cupcake! So of course I had to document with my camera.
And boy were they delicious! Myles enjoyed sharing them with his friends at daycare too. If you are looking for some great cupcakes, this is the place to get them.

This little guy made quite the early appearance. At 6.5 weeks early, he shocked us all but was still born over 5 lbs and only needed a few weeks in the NICU. He has been home with mom and dad for a while now and is doing great. I was so excited when they asked me to photograph him and spent Thanksgiving morning at their house. Last weekend I met up with an awesome family from my hometown. We were supposed to meet the weekend prior but weren't able to due to a nasty ice storm. When planning for my session with the {F} family, the last thing we thought about was "what do we do if it snows?" Now, being that we both grew up in Minnesota and both still live in the upper Midwest, one would plan for snow at a November session (or at least have thought of it). Nope, not me, I thought we would be free and clear, if only a little chilled. Saturday morning rolled around and voilà, 8 inches of snow on the ground. So, I drug out all my winter gear; hats, boots, jackets, etc for the entire {F} family and away we went. They were such troopers and I hope they enjoy their sneak peek. {F} family, It was wonderful catching up with you and meeting your handsome son. After photographing this little man's momma just before she was due, I was excited to meet him. With his curious personality you would have never known that he didn't want to make his entrance early or even on time. He came 9 days late! I can't believe that this is my 100th post! What a milestone and I didn't even know that it was coming up. I feel so blessed with the success of Cider Press Studios. Thank you all for checking out the blog. I am excited to see what is in store for the remainder of 2010. In the meantime... I am excited to introduce a new baby to the blog viewers. {R} was born on September 14. She is the little sister to one of my littlest and most adored clients. I just fell in love with her when I met her for the first time and then again through her photos as I was editing them. I can't wait to see the little girl that she grows into.

Whew! What a ride! It's been crazy around here and you will soon see what I mean because I have sessions comin' out my ears to put up here. Let's take baby steps (no pun intended) and just get started with the first one...but keep an eye out because there will be more....whaaa haa haa!
This is one of my favorite little munchkins. She is just 11 days younger than my little Isla (I know she will tease Isla about being older one day) and so full of life and personality. Her momma is one of the most beautiful women I know, inside and out (her dad is a pretty cool guy too) and they are doing a fantastic job raising this little one. I have known this family for a few years as one of my oldest and dearest friends was welcomed into the family when she married one of the fours sons. One of the sweetest women I knew just added a plus one to her family. Baby Molly arrived about a month ago and I was able to visit her a week ago. Molly is absolutely darling and has the sweetest temperament. She decided to stay awake for nearly the entire session for us! Whew! We still got great images that her parents will treasure as she grows up. I am so excited about these fun images. So many of them show a beautiful story of the love between parents and their child. I have been looking forward to my session with the S family for weeks. I was lucky enough to meet them about a year ago and just fell in love with their adorable daughter N and their contagious smiles and laughter. A year later and N is so grown up already and incredibly smart. She just blew me away. I couldn't wait to get home, upload my images and start sifting through all of the personality that N provided. What a beautiful, graceful family. I am honored to photograph them.

Last week I met up with these 3 amazing kids and their Mom for their annual family portraits. Usually no fun for the kids but we had an adventure, treking through brush and trees to find a hidden dock in a small inlet of the river. Bugs galore, but we got the shot and I just love how fun these images are. We might have had one tuckered out little man, but he gave the greatest smile at the very end of the shoot. It is amazing how fast 1 year goes by. It feels like just yesterday, this little man's mom was calling me to tell me he had arrived and just a minute ago that we captured him at 6 months old. But no, an entire year has passed us by and little "S" isn't so little anymore. He's a big boy who is on the go and calls his dad by his first name! I loved that he would call his dad by his first name instead of dad. When I asked about it, they said that "S" picked it up when his mom would call for his dad by his first name. That cracked me up! I also loved how sweet and cuddly he was with his mom and playful and boisterous he was with his dad. "T" family, thank you for allowing me to capture the first year of "S" life. It was an absolute joy to watch him grow through the images.

In mid July, Payton turned 1. I feel like it was just yesterday that I was photographing her at just 5 days old. She is now a sweet little girl who loves to laugh, smile, ride in her wagon and hang out with Mom and Dad. I can't wait to be back in September to meet her baby sister for the first time.

Yesterday morning I was introduced to my good friends newest addition to the family, Baby V! What a sweet little boy. He is already 3 months old and growing up so fast. His little thumb was in his mouth nearly the entire time, but he delivered when we needed him too. His proud big brother is about the same age as my son and such a handsome young man. He loves to run around and have fun. These two boys are going to keep mom running for years to come.

For all my wonderful portrait clients and engagement session clients....I am super excited to announce a super fun new section of the blog....a "What to Wear" section. Many of you ask "What should I wear to my session", so coming soon (very soon) is a section to help all of you with your session wardrobe. Keep your eyes peeled!

In the meantime, I leave you with an image of my baby girl, Isla from my iPhone. I am actually incredibly impressed with the image quality that the iPhone offers. Isla is already going to be 3 months old this weekend, how time flies. She's loves to sit up and watch the world go by in front of her. We are still waiting for the first little giggles but are sure they are only days away.

I am so excited to be "somewhat" back in the saddle and shooting again. The baby break really gave me a renewed love of my craft. The past few months I have been able to spend time caring for my newborn and play with my 2 year old. This time was invaluable to me but now it's time to go back to work and back to photography.

This past Sunday I was able to spend some time with Kyle and Natalie at their home. They are so cute and I just loved how much Kyle loved being a big brother to his little sister. He was great about helping her look at the camera and smile for me. They did great and I am excited to post their sneak peek!

We were so excited to welcome a new baby into our home last month. Isla Josephine was born on March 19, 2010 at 11:15 am. She was 6 lbs 13 oz and 20.25 inches long.
We are completely in love with her. She is growing everyday and is a great sleeper. Her brother is adjusting to have a baby in the house. Everyday is so much fun and I am enjoying the ride. Here are some images of Miss Isla!

In mid February, I had the honor of photographing the wedding of one favorite couples, Becky and Rick. These two are an amazing couple. Through the engagement session, the client meetings, and the wedding I saw a wonderful, strong connection that will never be broken between them. They are full of life and laughter. Benjamin is 3 months old already. I feel like it was just yesterday that I was capturing him at barely 2 weeks old. He has grown so much and it's so much fun to interact with him. He is really starting to reveal his personality. I loved how he listened so intently as his Mom read him a book. He really took in every image and studied the book to it's fullest. It was adorable!

The Mega Post-4 Year Old Lily

What can I say, I just had the hardest time narrowing down the images to show to you, therefor this is now titled the "Mega Post". 4 year old Lily is just so stinkin' cute. She was a great model for me and as she got comfortable in front of the camera, you could see her smile really shine. I was also very jealous of her clothes! Swear if I can find them in my size....

Leah has been my close friend for more years than I can count, she has been there for me in times of joy and sadness, and I have been honored to watch her fall love and marry a wonderful man, Jeff. This morning I felt it was important to make a very important introduction of the newest member of Cider Press Studios and the Feldman Family. Baby Feldman is now 20 weeks and half way to being here. We can't wait to meet this little one in March. Myles is really excited to be a big brother and we can't wait to see his helpful personality at work. We know this baby will be loved by all and especially by it's Mom, Dad, and big Brother.

Last weekend, I hosted the first ever Cider Press Studios Mini Sessions. I wasn't sure what to expect as this is the first one I have ever held, but I have to say, it was a great success. I got to meet new families, connect with old friends, and see some of my favorite clients again. I had so much fun and the weather cooperated for us. Such an adorable couple! I met up with Shawn and Rachel around the St. Anthony/Main area to wander around for their engagement session. They are so cute. Natalia and Cider Press Studios turn 1

This is a very exciting post for me! Natalia was the first little darling that I photographed back in October of 2008. She was just 2 weeks old. A few weeks ago, Natalia turned 1. So that means that Cider Press Studios turned 1 as well!
It was amazing to watch Natalia grow through her first year. She is a wonderful little girl and loves to explore. I can't wait to see what the next year brings for both her and Cider Press Studios!
